How we decide what to publish
Published standards make a claim. Here are ours — specific enough that you can hold us to them, and that we can hold ourselves to.
The standards every TideRoam site follows
These apply to all six sites in the network. They're not aspirational — they're operational.
On-the-ground research
We do not write destination guides for places we haven't visited personally. Every beach rating, accommodation note and practical detail on this network reflects direct experience. We don't aggregate information from other sources and call it research.
Date stamps on every page
Every content page across the network carries a "Last updated" date. We update pages when conditions change — not on a content calendar schedule. Outdated information is clearly marked or removed. The date is there so you can make an informed decision about how much to trust it.
Named authors on all content
Every guide and article on this network credits the person who wrote it by name. The author bios on our About page include their specific experience of the relevant destination. Anonymous content is not published. Content farms and AI-generated text are not used without substantial editorial oversight and fact-checking.
Affiliate disclosure, in plain language
When we earn a commission from a link, we say so. The disclosure appears on every page that contains affiliate links — not buried in a footer, not hidden behind a vague reference to "partners." Affiliate revenue funds the editorial work. It never influences what we recommend.
Corrections within 48 hours
When a reader points out an error, we verify it and correct it within 48 hours. The correction is noted on the page — not silently fixed. If the error is significant, we add an update note explaining what changed and why.
No press trips, no hosted stays, no paid placement
We pay our own way for every trip we write about. We do not accept complimentary accommodation, meals, tours or transport from operators. We do not accept payment to feature, rank or positively review any business. Independence is the point.
Original photography and honest attribution
Photography on this network is either our own or clearly attributed to the source. We do not use stock images to represent places we haven't photographed ourselves. When we do use stock imagery, it is labelled as such and does not pretend to be on-the-ground reporting.
Transparent contact and accountability
We publish multiple contact channels and respond to all messages. Concerns about editorial standards go directly to standards@tideroam.com. We read every message and respond within two business days.
What to do if you think we've fallen short
If you believe any content on this network fails to meet these standards, contact us directly at standards@tideroam.com. We read every message and respond within two business days. If a correction is warranted, we publish it transparently.
